Girona Strengthens Its Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Becomes Catalonia’s Third Leading City for Start-ups
15/03/2026
A recent article published by Diari de Girona highlights the strong momentum of Girona’s entrepreneurial ecosystem: Girona is now the third city in Catalonia with the highest number of start-ups, behind only Barcelona and Terrassa.
This achievement reflects the growth and maturity of entrepreneurship across the region. It is not the result of chance, but of the collective efforts of many individuals and organizations that work together to support new ventures and create opportunities.
At Fundació Farinera Girona, we are especially proud that the photograph accompanying the article was taken during the Startup Reset Weekend, an initiative organized by the Foundation that brought together more than thirty entrepreneurs in an environment of trust, learning, and collaboration.
Throughout the weekend, participants shared real experiences, challenges, mistakes, and lessons learned, demonstrating that behind every entrepreneurial project are people who need support, connections, and spaces where they can grow together.
We strongly believe that projects do not succeed based on a good idea alone. They also need a supportive ecosystem, a community that shares knowledge, and a network of people willing to help one another.
For this reason, we would like to recognize the work of all the organizations that contribute to strengthening this ecosystem, including GironaHub, Girona Next, the BAGI Network (Business Angels Girona), and the University of Girona.
Fundació Farinera Girona will continue working to ensure that more entrepreneurs have access to resources, experience, and support. Our goal remains the same: to ensure that no entrepreneur feels alone while developing their project.
