04/02/2026
The Farinera Girona Foundation, in collaboration with Diari de Girona, continues the “5 Tips” series with an interview with David Casellas, entrepreneur, investor, project accelerator and vice-president and trustee of the Foundation. In this latest edition, Casellas shares an in-depth look at what it means to feel different, manage pressure, and look after your mental health while forging your own path.
In this conversation with Adri Lacaita, Casellas speaks about entrepreneurship not as a trend or a temporary stage, but as a condition that accompanies you at all times. He shares his beginnings marked by family difficulties, the feeling of not fitting into the educational system, the constant pressure from leadership and the importance of learning to ask for help. An honest story that focuses on resilience, personal responsibility and emotional well-being as the foundations of sustainable success.
In the article, Casellas summarises what he has learned into five essential tips for anyone looking to undertake entrepreneurial ventures without losing themselves along the way:
1. Feeling different can be your strength – Adversity, flexibility and resilience build character. Everything you experience, even what weighs on you, prepares you to lead with greater awareness and conviction.
2. Focus, draw up a plan and do not stop – Entrepreneurship is not constantly making things up as you go along, but vision, discipline and executing it on a daily basis. Being clear about what you want and accepting that it depends on you is the first step forward.
3. Persevere even when judged – Society often points to failure instead of valuing the courage to try. Surrounding yourself with people who support you and believe in you is key to maintaining motivation.
4. Learn to experience success – For every good moment there are many tough ones. Leading also means projecting confidence, but without forgetting to celebrate progress along the way and believe in the results you achieve.
5. Look after your mental health – Asking for help is not weakness, it is the sign of a great leader. Managing pressure, putting problems into perspective and working on emotional well-being is the key to sustaining the project and personal relationships.
